Jeff Rottman, a production potter, studio owner, instructor and designer/maker of GR Pottery Forms, will take attendees through a hands-on session of using his forms. His expertise is turning clay into slabs and making functional pottery. This knowledge is converted into using the GR Pottery Forms products for hand building specializing in dinnerware for beginners and making fun DIY trays and platters. He really enjoys sharing the benefits of clay to be successful in everyday life and especially in studio practice for all levels of makers.
Zoë Hall, representing AMACO, manages and educates at Jacksonville Pottery Studio while also travelling and teaching educational workshops for AMACO. This workshop will overview AMACO's newest mid-range glazes, including Phase, Dipping & Layering, Cosmos, Potters Choice Fluxs and NEW Potters Choice. Images, features & benefits, application and firing tips will be shared. Attendees can test and experiment with the Phase, Cosmos, PCFs new PC glazes on their own wares or test tiles. Participants should bring up to 5 small bisque pieces (no more than 5” tall 4” wide), bisque test tiles, and brushes. Zoë will also lead attendees through tutorials using underglazes to decorate their freshly made GR Form pieces.
