Tucker’s CCS Speckled fires reddish-tan with dark specks which are produced by a small amount of granular manganese creating a reduction effect as the specks bleed through the glazes. It is a very responsive throwing and hand building body which trims easily. It contains 8% fine grog. This clay fires to reddish tan with dark specks at Cone 6.

One of my favourite clays! As others have said, the grog is a bit difficult to get used to if you've thrown with smoother clays, but it holds it's shape really well and I've had very minimal issues cracking while drying (besides a couple of handles, but that's probably more of a technique problem, aha). The brown tone and speckles are lovely!
Tucker’s CCS Speckled Clay is a Cone 6 stoneware has a warm speckled finish, earthy smell , excellent workability, and reliable performance in both throwing and hand building. One of my favorite clay bodies to work with.
This clay is the WORST to work with, it's extremely groggy and can't so much as be trimmed but rather punished with fingers crossed.
All that being said it is also one of the MOST STUNNING clays I've ever worked with, and in the end that really our weighs the pain and learning curve when using it
I got good end results, but the grog is like sand paper - very hard on the hands!
I love this clay, it’s one I keep coming back to. It’s consistently reliable and I love how it plays with different glazes.
I absolutely love this clay. It’s got a groggy texture, so it takes a little getting used to at first, but once you get the feel for it, it’s amazing to work with. It holds its shape really well and has good strength, especially when throwing 10-12 pounds of clay. I also love how it looks after firing—there’s a natural, earthy quality to it that really stands out. It’s become one of my favorite clays to use.
I love using this clay. It makes for great glaze results.
This clay is so pretty!
