Borax Decahydrate is a water soluble, low temperature flux which lowers the fusion point of glazes and promotes a smooth melt. A source of sodium and boric oxide in glazes. Acts as both a glass former and a low temperature flux and has been shown to improve the fit of glaze on greenware and bisque. Additionally, when mixed with oxides, borax produces bright colors.
