Baby Bump Tool
The Baby Bump has nothing to do with becoming a parent. It’s all about you being able to "bump out" or alter the clay when working in a hollow form or cylinder. Smaller than the Bump, but longer than your hand, the Baby Bump is designed to extend the potter’s or sculptor’s reach up to 13 inches. It gives you the leverage you need to move clay or heal seams where your hand can’t reach. The aluminum rod is stiff and shipped straight, but it can be altered to suit your individual need for throwing or hand building clay. It is bendable but not flexible. The idea is to put a bend or curve in it and leave it. The bump end is a dense sponge material with a hard center.
This is a contouring tool, not a mopping tool.
Super handy to have if you throw taller! Sort of spongey surface while still being firm for shaping/compressing.
